Is Woocommerce faster?

I’m running the latest WordPress and Woocommerce 2.0.20.

The admin had been so painfully slow, especially when adding new products, that I basically gave up on my site. New Years resolution was to start up again, but use a paid service like bigcommerce, shopify, etc. When I checked in on my WP site and updated everything, it seems to be running much faster. Adding or editing products seems much zippier now.

Is it in my head? Or has there been truly an effort by woocommerce to make things faster? If this zippier version of woocommerce is here to stay, then I may give it a second chance.

Please give me any input on what you know about what Woocommerce did this past year. Thank you!
