• Hello,

I have a site that uses wordpress for our news section. example: http://mysite.com/news

We are trying to mobilize our news section (aka create a mobile theme), and add it to our mobile site on the sub domain of http://m.mysite.com/news

So would the solution of this be to allow multisite, and have one site be our desktop version, and another be our mobile version?

If so, how would I go about the domains? For instance, how would I keep our desktop version without the subdomain, but the mobile with the “m.mysite.com/news” subdomain “m” and directory /news

  • I wouldn’t bother will all of that. my normal recommendation when someone asks for this is that they should look at a responsive design. That way there’s no domain switching, no need to determine which version to show, and it will still work everywhere that it’s needed. if they have an existing theme that they don’t want to change (most clients will) then it is still not hard to transform that into a responsive design. I’ve done that for a growing set of clients so far, and I know that it’s not as hard as it sounds when you get to know what you’re doing.
