I assign multiple categories to my posts, one of which is always the same. I made this my default category. The problem is the default category is assigned only when no other category is chosen. I want it to be checked by default when I open the editor to create a new post. I write so many posts and I have so many categories in my list that to check the default category every time is a bit of a nuisance. Is there any way to keep it checked.

The plugin More Fields gives you the option to have a certain category checked by default!
