    The theme is Eastview and it's a fixed width centered theme.

    How exactly do I do that? I know next to nothing about scripting. Would posting a link to my .css file be of any help?

    I know next to nothing about scripting.

    Here's a good place to start learning.

    Here's a link to my style sheet. What values would I need to change in order to increase column width without breaking stuff?

    The right link to your css is http://freelance.freehostia.com/blog/wp-content/themes/eastview/style.css

    #farouter {background: #ffffff;width: 760px;
    #content {float: left;width: 490px; padding-top: 40px;}
    #menu {float: right;width: 175px; margin-right: 3px; border-left: 1px dashed #030303;}

    This are some places to look at. For the rest I would say the same as Whooami to look at the uri she gave

    Why do you just post instead of carefully reading and considering the help that was posted for you?
    Red-star gave for you the exact lines to modify in your stylesheet.
    Imagine, you have a big box (farouter) and inside of it two smaller boxes: content & menu.
    Content = 490px wide, menu = 175px wide: 490+175=665.
    Around them you have the 760px 'farouter' div. The difference between 760 and 665 is taken up by margins, paddings, borders etc.

    You will have modify those values until you get what you want. And if you don't understand and/or don't want to learn how to do it - stop bumping and pick a theme that is wide enough for your needs: http://themes.wordpress.net
