Hi Eli, ditto what everyone else says about a great plugin, so thanks.

I was wondering if there’s a way to bulk whitelist a large number of files so they don’t show up on every scan. Each time I scan with A-M it flags 450 or so files cached by Autoptimize, a plugin I use to optimize my database. I can see by clicking on each one there’s an option to whitelist it at the top, but 450 is just too many to do individually. The only alternative is to turn off my JS optimization in Autoptimize, which I’m reluctant to do because it helps my page speed. I guess the third option is to just ignore them, but that risks me potentially missing some other files that may be flagged, in between the tranches of Autoptimize ones. Is there any fix?

Also, when I try to run Quick Scan, it just hangs, tells me there was a memory problem and recommends I do a complete scan. Not a big deal but wonder if there’s a reason.

None of the above are gripes, BTW, it’s a great plugin that adds a useful security tool to my WP dashboard. So thanks.

BTW, the 450 files are flagged as ‘potential’ rather than real threats, and the text that says ‘they probably aren’t threats’ is reassuring, but I’d rather clean them from the scan view if possible.

There is no bulk whitelist option because, in general, each file you want to whitelist should be carefully inspected before you confirm that you want to whitelist it. I understand that in your situation it is assumed that all the cached files are presenting the same bit of code that is under suspicion (probably a javascript call to the eval function, which is usually harmless, but is sometimes used to execute malicious code). perhaps the best workaround I can suggest would be for you to add the cache folder to the list of folders to exclude from the scan. Also, if you have the latest definition update you could also just uncheck the Potential Threats, because anything truly dangerous should be in my latest update as a Know Threat.

The Quick Scan only works when your server has enough memory allocated to the PHP process to scan all the files.

Please let me know if I can be of any more help.

P.S. I am subscribed to this thead so I will respond quicker in the future. I don’t know why but I never got a notification of his post.

    Aloha, Eli
