[resolved] Is there a way to stop all new pages from showing as a drop down? (5 posts)

It appears that after about 30 pages are added the drop-downs of the button at the top will be near the bottom of the page.

If I can stop the new pages from dropping down at a set point, I can put links to the new ones in the last page shown on the button.

  2. Depends on your theme. If your theme's menu is calling all pages, then you can try editing it.

    See http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_list_pages

Or if possible, use the built in Menu tool to create your own menus.

Wow, thanks Ipstenu. A quick scan indicates I should be able to control the page branching almost at will.

Could you perhaps verify the name of the file, or folder "<?php wp_list_pages( $args ); ?>" is located in?

This is my first WP site; haven't been up into any files yet.

Thanks a bunch. I'll wait a while for a reply, then mark this one resolved.

  4. It'll PROBABLY be in your header.php file, but it depends where the menu is :)

If you go the route of editing wp_list_pages(), I would suggest doing it via a child theme: http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
