   I am trying to list this year's archives by month and past years archives by year, is there a way to do this?
   I am using wp_get_archives(); to do this, am I correct here...

   Might have to resort to a collapsing archive like
   http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/collapsing-categories/

   Thank you Michael, I just tried the plugin but it uses the sidebar (while I am not using one in my template)..
