• Hello~!

I would love to be able to add a use for custom emoticons in the comment form. Is this possible?

I have the WP Smiley plugin installed on my blog, and it works perfectly while writing posts, and it also offers to add the feature to the comment form.. In the instructions for manually adding this feature, it gave a short string of code that can be entered into the comment form file, but it doesn’t work after I tried adding it to the theme’s comments.php file.

I then looked in the comment files in the jetpack plugin (via the editor), but was unsure which ones to try. I really hope this is possible – it will be awesome, if is~!

If you can assist with this, I will appreciate it SO much. 🙂

    Thanking you in advance~!

    Jetpack Mechanic 🚀

I’m afraid that’s not possible yet. The Jetpack comment form is hosted on WordPress.com and added to your site via iFrame. It’s consequently a bit difficult to hook into the form with another plugin at the moment.

We’re planning on adding more customization options to the comment form, and we’ll see if we can make sure plugins like WP Smiley become compatible with Jetpack Comments. Until then, I’m afraid you’ll have to deactivate the Jetpack Comments module.

Well thank you for responding~! I’ll definitely be looking forward to seeing more changes with that.
