Support » Plugins » Is there a plugin to add extra divs?

  • I’m working with a child theme of twentyeleven. I want to add a customer footer with a sitemap in it. I’ve tried footer sitemap for this, but it’s not giving me what I want. My question is, is there a plugin to add extra divs to a theme? If not, what is the easiest way to achieve what I want? Do I have to go into the PHP, because I’d prefer not to as I am not extremely familiar with PHP.

    Thanks.

  • the Twenty Eleven footer takes widgets – have you tried to find a sitemap widget?

Yes I have, I’ve used the plug in, “footer sitemap” however this doesn’t have the customization options I want, and I think the easiest way to solve this would be to be able to simply create my own divs.

you could use a php-widget, where you can add html (your own divs) and php code (the sitemap code)

That sounds like the best solution, I’m not very good with PHP however, do you have any good resources, or is the plug in pretty straightforward?

you seem to know quite exactly what you want, and if a plugin does not deliver, you need to programm your own php – if in a php-widget or template is no big difference – the ‘div’ is only the html structure for your output.

so you could edit footer.php in the child theme of Twenty Eleven …

btw, I don’t have any resources for sitemaps which I can recommend.
