   Is there a current working method to allow my authors to save their posts with a custom post status:
   Authors/contributors can save as: Draft or Editing
   Editors can save as: Editing or Scheduling
   Publishers can save as: Scheduling or Scheduled

   (All lower level users are restricted from higher tasks. ie: publish/schedule)

   There's very little about this topic discussed, & a few plugins that don't really satisfy this need. I see it's being worked on. Does anyone have a tip on how I could accomplish this?

   It has been started on with the latest wordpress release, but not complete. The hooks are in place, but they don't work.

   Thanks for confirming the info. Is there any rough, ballpark estimate of when it will work (even if in beta)? I'm new to WP, so I don't know how often releases come out, and I know you can't answer "when will it be ready," but if it's going to be several months, I'll go ahead & hire a programmer to do what I need. If it's almost done, then I'd love to help if anyone can use some help (testing?).
