Hello,
I have recently moved my wordpress blog to a new hosting. I have transferred all the files as they were previously as well as the database too. But I am getting an error like this : "Unable to create directory /home/users/web/b2465/sl.loretts/public_html//wp-content/uploads/2011/09. Is its parent directory writable by the server?"
I can't understand what is the actual problem. I would be very obliged if anyone can point it out.
Regards :)
You need to change permissions on your uploads folder so WordPress is able to create the yearly/monthly sub-folders within it. That may be 755 or 777, depending on your server. To change permissions the easiest way is normally through an FTP program.

I changed the folder permission to 777. But this further produced errors:
Warning: copy() [function.copy]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 686009 is not allowed to access /www/99k.org/a/n/a/anag/htdocs/wp-content\uploads owned by uid 2001 in /www/99k.org/a/n/a/anag/htdocs/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 348
Warning: copy(/www/99k.org/a/n/a/anag/htdocs/wp-content\uploads/batman.jpeg) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/99k.org/a/n/a/anag/htdocs/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 348

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
You are going to need to speak to your hosts. It's a server configuration issue.

Thanks for the speedy reply.
I expected this post to lie languishing here for months, I can't believe I got help in 9 minutes!
We do try to help where we can. :-) I hope you manage to get it sorted. If not, this might be a good time to start thinking about using another host. Although forum rules will not allow me (or anyone else) to really recommend a host, there are plenty of good ones out there.
