Is it too late for Permalinks? (4 posts)

    Hi

Please view my blog at http://www.jayz.co.za - you can see the page links are not very friendly (eg http://www.jayz.co.za/?page_id=30) - is it too late for me to now change to a custom structure (eg http://www.jay.co.za/about-us/)?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nope, you can change permalinks at any time, it's just not recommended to do it all the time, for a multitude of reasons, one being that the search engines will get lost if you go with "pretty" permalinks now, and then change them back later.

Here's what I use in order to get pretty much what you're looking for, but without ruining the infrastructure:

Just note that some hosting companies will take a few minutes to register these across the board, so if you switch up and then find 404 errors, just wait 10-15 minutes and you should see them all resolve to where they should be.

You're quite welcome - can you please mark this thread as "resolved" so that anyone seeking the same assistance can know that they'll find their answer here? Thanks!
