   Hello.

   I have just installed Google Sitemap Generator and for it to work I have used CHMOD 777 on the properties of my blog root folder - located at bluntedpresents/blog

   Is this safe?

   That's probably not a good idea ;)

   Some webservers won't run with webroot being 777.

   Check out the Permissions section of Hardening_WordPress.

   I've set it to 755 and the site map is still generated ok. Is this a better bet?

   755 for directories and 644 for files is normally what you see.
