Actually what I see is some problems here on the forum, I’m afraid of upgrading

What do you mean by “translated 3.0.1”?

WP translated to my language, from http://br.wordpress.org/

But I don’t want to use the translated version any longer, so I’m wondering if I can just click the upgrade link that exists now on my dashboard

I don’t have much experience with non-English versions of WP but I don’t think the upgrade will create any problems. It’s more an internal patch than anything affecting the Admin displays.

I’ll ask around and see if anyone with more experience can advise you.

I haven’t done this since the 2.5 days but it should be fine. All the files should just get overwritten. I can’t remember if there was anything in the DB that needed to be changed.

Make a good backup, but the 3.0.1 -> 3.0.2 change is files only so it’s a pretty easy backout.

I’ll wait a couple days then I’ll give it a try. When I do, I’ll be sure to come back and let you know.

Yes, you’re fine to update to English.

However, you’re going to want to update the wp-config.php WPLANG setting, otherwise you’re going to keep seeing update notifications for pt_BR.

Edit: WPLANG should be empty, ''.
