   hi,

   i use akismet and it seems to do a good job.

   however, i have gotten a few comments that appear to be genuine but because of the authors link i wonder.

   the specificall the comments i am second guessing are "Great information! I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now. Thanks!"

   and "Thanks for sharing this."

   they were flagged as spam by akismet but i allowed them because the seem authentic and genuine with no links in the body of the comment.

   now (perhaps out of paranoia) i am beginning to second guess my decision because of the authors web sites (black hat seo and educational grant finder).

   please advise.

   Yes. Generic positive comments like these with an author link to a shady site are classic comment spam.
