    Hi,

currently, Oxygen theme has too many h1 tags in a page. The sidebar has one, menu header has 1 etc…

Is it possible to ensure only one h1 tags per url?

Twenty Eleven theme also has similar issue and there was a solution to it.

Could anyone provide some directions/advice on how Oxygen theme can follow similar logic? I looked into the header.php, menu-primary.php and sidebar.php file but don’t really understand how the h1 tag is being obtained.

    For e.g. the main page:
    http://www.yourtravelsecretary.com/

Unless you know quite a bit of HTML and CSS, that’s a significant undertaking…you would need to modify any file that uses the h1 tags you want to change, and the relevant CSS as well.

Actually, I just looked at that page more closely and there are only two instances of h1 tags — the site title and page title – which is a perfectly good/logical use of them. No problem at all for SEO if that’s your concern.

Oxygen doesn’t use h1’s in menus or sidebars. That must be caused by something else – a plugin for example.

If you use the ‘Front Page’ template (as intended), there will be no more than h1 on the home page or on any url.

Yea, WPyogi… U r right. There are only 2 instances of h1 tags. There were more when I was using wordpress.com. Now that I switched to .org,everything seems fine.

So many thanks WPyogi and Griden, everything seems in place for now.
