   Is it possible to have a template that defines what each single post from a particular category will look like??

   For example, could I have something like single-news to display a single post from category news.

   I have tried googling this but I think I may be getting the terminology wrong somewhere.

   Forgot to mention, I am developing a theme so I am looking to do this without the use of a plugin.
