Is GoDaddy still a recommended host? (3 posts)

    Hi,

I'm still a newbie but know enough now to see that 1 and 1 is not working for me as a hosting solution (has anyone else noticed that they don't work well with Woo Themes? 505 error, anyone?).

Anyway, am I losing my mind or was GoDaddy a recommended host on the Hosting Page of this site until a few weeks ago? Would anyone recommend GoDaddy? Are there problems? I've already signed up with them but when I saw that they weren't on the "Hosting" page anymore, I didn't want to migrate my blogs over there (not that I know how to migrate, but I was ready to learn).

Any advice is appreciated. I don't even care about the price. I just want it to work.

    Thanks,
    Julie

  2. Huh. I thought it was listed here too http://wordpress.org/hosting/

Well, you can still use it :) Not every host in the world is listed on that page, but GoDaddy can be fine for most people.

I'm hosting two wordpress installs on two godaddy sites with Super-cache enabled and it can be REALLY slow. Search for "Slow godaddy" on these boards to find out more. It's a common complaint.

    I won't use them again.
