I’m using the iThemes Security plugin (formerly “Better WP Security”) along with BruteProtect. I enabled the “Brute Force Protection” setting in iThemes Security when the BP100 error was consistently showing up and BruteProtect wouldn’t fall back to the math captcha (I use the standard WordPress login form–no customized anything). Obviously BruteProtection doesn’t have the all the security offerings that a full fledged security plugin like iThemes Security does however, it does leave me with two questions:

Is BruteProtect compatible overall with iThemes Security?

Is having “Brute Force Protection” enabled in iThemes Security going to interfere with BruteProtect or should I just disable this setting?

    Thanks.

  • The two plugins do play well together.I run both and have not had any issues. I do run both on a few of my websites. I personally would only run one with brute protect on though.

I am also using iThemes Security plugin and when active, BruteProtect says “Can not load site” and no stats appear. When I deacticate iThemes Security everything works fine. I guess the problem comes from iThemes settings. Any thoughts?
    Thank you

You should only have brute force protection turned on for either Brute Protect OR iThemes Security. If you have both on they might compete with each other. That is probably why you are getting the error.
