is "/blog/" in my URL structure coming from using multisite?

    I have WP 3.0 with multi-site enabled.

    I noticed on the permalinks page that I have “/blog/” as part of the URL, and its not editable.

    This is a real PITA because:

    a) It increases all my URL lengths
    b) Not great for SEO
    c) Some themes I use don’t like it, and have stopped working

    So can someone tell me where the “/blog/” has come from, and importantly, what I can do to get rid of it …
