[resolved] Is affiliate marketing ok to do with WordPress (3 posts)

    Evening. I'm getting conflicting messages on "affiliate marketing". I heard from a friend (WordPress user) that "click throughs" are not allowed with WP. I googled it and saw a similar story that it's not allowed. However, I see plugins and other stuff on the forums. My set up is that I have godaddy.com as my web host and installed WP through their application install. Thus I am paying for hosting, rather than the Free blog host of WP. Is this the dividing line lies? If it was a free blog, then it's (Affiliate Marketing) not allowed? I do have a wordpress.com free user to allow my paid account to use JetPack to work. I'm new to all this, so pardon my lack of knowledge. Thanks!

    You can do whatever you want with your self-hosted WordPress.ORG site (though some hosts may have restrictions on acceptable use).

    WordPress.COM does have more restrictive policies - so that may be what you heard about - see their policies here:
