Why these huge _transient data entries saves in database ?

there no other way to get feed updates i.e. directly from WP server as in old versions ???

& there is no option in Admin Dashboard to periodically clean these huge data entries !!! We hv to manually delet via SQL login :<

Its not possible to overwrite the old already stored database entry with the new feed data instead of each separate entry ???

If these are so necessary to show admin dashboard feeds U Should store them in separate specific table for feeds instead of options table

so that we can clean/empty It easily
& also if there is separate table for _transient in DB while taking DB backUPs we can easily ignore this table instead of getting huge backups.

Pls do the needful these entries make MY sites DB HeavY :((

  2. Deleted bump.

The transients are saved caches and reduce load on your server.

You can delete them via SQL right now. See http://wpengineer.com/2114/delete-all-feed-cache-via-sql-in-wordpress/

There's been talk in trac about moving them to their own table, mind you. Just hasn't happened yet.

    thanX @Ipstenu

I know this method but its hard to go into SQL & run the command again again & again

If provide separate table then 'L b more useful as we can use some function/plugin to empty the table ;)

& if there is option in Admin Dashboard itself then B more easy

    thanX
