IPN issue

    Latest version of WP and WooCommerce, trying to resolve PayPal sandbox IPN issues (log in to PayPal with fakebuyer email, buy digital download, no digital download link in emails, no return to site though in the past I’ve had download links in emails working somehow, everything seems to be set up in PayPal correctly).

    The documentation says the log file is at Woocommerce > logs > paypal.txt but WooCommerce itself in Settings > Payment gateways > PayPal says the file name is something along the lines of paypal-welrjqejlkjwe.txt

    Does Woocommerce create this file? Either way I’ve uploaded both versions (paypal.txt and paypal-welrjqejlkjwe.txt) and both versions consistently remain blank, permissions are 775 for logs directory and 775 for text file, System Status says log directory is writeable, what am I doing wrong please?
