IP protect wp-admin folder (2 posts)

    Hey everybody,

My blog was hacked last fall, and I thought they immediately gave up until I decided to look into the dummy (admin) e-mail account I used to re-install and noticed the same hacker had tried to hack again shortly after the 2nd launch.

Luckily I took initiative with the re-install to make it harder for hackers, such as stronger username-password combo's and keeping the WP software up to date at all times. But the e-mail discovery caused me to become paranoid again, seeing how my site is considerably active on a daily basis and it'd be a pain in the ass to start over a 3rd time.

Is there a way I can IP protect the wp-admin folder?

For that matter, would that even be my solution?

If you have dynamic IP from your provider, that makes it more complicated.
There are other/more ways to tighten security.

    This can help you

It's always good to password protect the wp-admin folder. Sometimes you can do this from your hosting account too.
