    I have a fresh new install of wordpress 3.8.2 on website, which is hosted by 1and1.

    I have installed and updated the Ioncube 5.4 loader and tested on my site and it works fine. But when I uploaded your tester, it says it’s not working. another plugin I installed also can’t find it.

    But it is there and it does work… as ling as the folder has the php.ini file in it as well.

    The PHP.INI file says the following:

    zend_optimizer.optimization_level=15
    zend_extension=/kunden/homepages/24/d341053033/htdocs/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_5.4.so

    and the error message says:

    Site error: the file /homepages/24/d341053033/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/imscrapidmailer-system/includes/updatecheck.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.4.so to be installed …

    Spoke with 1and1, they confirmed that is indeed working, but wordpress and your tested can’t seem to find it.

    when I run…
    http://directbuynl.com/ioncube/phpinfo.php
    the document root of my ioncube is indeed…

    PHP Version 5.4.27
    DOCUMENT_ROOT /kunden/homepages/24/d341053033/htdocs
    SCRIPT_FILENAME /kunden/homepages/24/d341053033/htdocs/ioncube/phpinfo.php
    REDIRECT_URL /ioncube/phpinfo.php

    The php.ini file seems to hold the key to getting this to work in wordpress, but I have no idea where to place it or how to get my plugin to read it.

    OR

    It has something to do with 1and1 and the folder /kumden/ (preceeding /homepages) which does not show in the wordpress plugin error.

    Any Ideas…
    Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

    I am sorry, but this plugin is no longer actively maintained – there were too many issues regarding different hosting setups so I switched to another solution for my pro plugin. I would directly turn to the ioncube support respectively use their support forums – you might get help there easier than here…

    Just solved my problem, the php.ini file needed to be copied to the wp-admin folder.

    Your plugin worked as advertised!!

    I knew it was a simple fix…

    Thanks
