I am at a loss with inviting followers to my blog. (www.ohsspin.com)
I try to follow this instruction page (Inviting Contributors, Followers, and Viewers), but when I go to my dashboard/Users... there is no "invite new" in the menu.
Is there a plugin I need to add?
I have a list of club members email address, I want to send emails when a new post is published, is there another option I could use?

Inviting contributors seems to be a feature of wordpress.com not self-hosted sites. I thought same thing and wanted this feature too. I don't understand why self-hosted doesn't have it built in. I'm now looking at plugins which use Roles & capabilities but this is a lot more complex than my needs. One is Role scoper.

Hi, I guess this sort of answers my question...but just checking...
It's not contributers I want to invite, but followers (subscribers?). I migrated from blogger, and was hoping to contact them to entice them over. Any ideas on this, or a plugin etc that might help?
I am aware that google friend connect is no longer supported by google for non blogger platforms, and google+ is suggested, this doesn't totally solve the issue, though.
