   I recently did a one-click install of Word Press, then FTP uploaded several plug-ins and at that time, they showed up in the "plug-in" portion of the control panel. Shortly thereafter, they vanished from the control panel. The files are still there when I view my website through an FTP server, but for some reason the Control Panel is not showing them.
   Has anyone else had this issue? I don't know what to do!

   ps. I also just installed a theme in the theme folder and that doesn't show up in the control panel either...ack!

   alrighty then, how many plugins do you think you have installed correctly? I see 5 :)

   what is the path that you are uploading to?

   If it includes WWW you're in the wrong place.

   I believe those 5 plugins were there to start with...do you mean Akismet, Hello Dolly, etc?

   Weird! I went to that link and none of the plugins I show in my FTP program are there...the bermuda triangle???

   am I using the wrong permissions? I guess the things that's throwing me is that they were there one day and then gone the next without me doing anything in between.

    I have no clue .. since I cant see that :)

    I just know what I see.. and what I see is what wordpress is going to see :)

    I figured it out. Duh! Thank you for trying to help. Seems that there are 2 directories - one was just very well hidden. :-)

    well, i had created a separate FTP account for a company that was installing a website for me and somehow, the blog with all it's files end up there, meantime, a copy still showed in the original location...that sounds really confusing, doesn't it? I don't really know what I'm talking about...can you tell? :-)Good thing you responded so quickly!
