    Hello everyone!

    So, where to begin??

I am hosting through bluehost and have created a wildcard subdomain on the same directory as my primary site.

I have multisite enabled and working; I was able to create a subdomain site, got the “site created” email, and imported the contents of a blog I’d like to shut down (the dashboard looks normal–I can see the correct information in the “Right Now” and “Recent Comments” area). However, when I attempt to view the site, check recent posts, look at media files, or anything that would take me to the site itself, I get this message:

    Invalid query: 1146: Table ‘starvip1_wor2.icl_3_rfr2b_options’ doesn’t exist

I’ve gone into myPhpAdmin and the file appears to be there with the correct website and everything.

I tried chat with bluehost and couldn’t get any help.

    Any ideas? Thanks much!

    Hi Mika:

I used the “export” feature in my old blog and the “import” feature in my subdomain blog. The old one is on wordpress.com so it worked very nicely.

But my issue is I can’t get the page to load. I keep getting the error described above and would really like some help…

    <cough>That would be “Mika“</cough> πŸ˜‰

    So sorry!!!!! Mika!!!!

That’s what I get for reading too quickly. Will edit post-haste!

Might anyone be able to help with my invalid query problem?

I did but from what I remember the errors were related to the authorname. When I checked my PhpAdmin, the table is there.

from what I remember the errors were related to the authorname.

Can you recall what the errors were?

Can you confirm that you had logged into the relevant sub-site when you carried out the import?

Thanks for asking; I was both in the sub-site and fiddling in bluehost’s cpanel since I had gotten mixed up a bit regarding how to set up the wildcard/subdomain.

I’ve gone back in now to re-import and here’s what I got. The file came in and the first error message was

Failed to import author . Their posts will be attributed to the current user.

I selected an author to assign the existing posts to and continued. On the next page I got a list that indicated the posts and media already exists (since I had evidently done the import correctly the last time) and the final line of the “Import WordPress” page was

    Invalid query: 1146: Table ‘starvip1_wor2.icl_3_rfr2b_options’ doesn’t exist

Is there a way to create this table?

Not manually, no. Although it would be possible in theory, in reality, it would be way too difficult. Was the site working before you ran the import?

The site worked fine on wordpress.com. It has not worked at all on self-hosted sub-site, which is what sparked my original question above. As I said there, when I am on the sub-site dashboard I see what should be there but when I attempt to do anything or visit the site I get the invalid query line.

It has not worked at all on self-hosted sub-site

But did the sub-site work before you tried to carry out the import?

I didn’t try it. I’ll give it a go now to see what happens…

    Thread Starter arobinsonneal

    (@arobinsonneal)

It basically did the same thing; I got a confirmation that the site was created and then when I clicked “Visit Site” the page opened to

    Invalid query: 1146: Table ‘starvip1_wor2.icl_4_rfr2b_options’ doesn’t exist

Not sure what the numbers after the “.icl_” represent; note in the previous error messages, the number was “3” and now it’s “4.”

Well – that information puts the issue in a whole new light. This has nothing to do with the import. Looks like there is a problem creating tables in the database.

Have you been able to create any sub-sites?

    Thread Starter arobinsonneal

    (@arobinsonneal)

    None that work πŸ™
In my cPanel, I have the wildcard subdomain pointing to the same document root as my primary domain. When I create a wildcard subdomain that points to its own document root I get a bluehost banner page with nothing on it.

What happens if you remove wildcards?
