[resolved] Internet Explorer Inconsistent (4 posts)

Internet explorer seems to display my single post pages differently depending on how you access them.

If you go directly to them, my list of comments overlaps the post. If you click through to them from my front page, all is well.

Let my most recent post serve as an example:
    http://www.blogwaffe.com:8000/2005/06/14/298/

Copy and paste that link into IE, and the page will be borked. If you go to my main page http://www.blogwaffe.com:8000/ and then clicking on that post, however, it looks fine.

(I've got a Mac, actually, so I can't check behavior very well).

I think it has something to do with my mashing the comments list about (a float, some position: relatives ...). Thoughts?

In IE5.5 no matter how I access it it's always the same: overlap. (I tried directly by the link above, and from the frontpage clicking the title, more, comments link - always looks the same.)

Wow. I think I was looking at it in IE 6.something.

If people check this, it might be a good idea to check a couple different posts. Maybe the one above and http://www.blogwaffe.com:8000/2005/05/29/293/ (which doesn't have any lists, blockquotes...).

    Thanks moshu, I'll keep poking.

OK - I think I've solved it (though I've not implemented it on my site). My guess is that IE does a bad job cacheing pages. It seems to forget what elements count as CSS containers.

Simplifying the markup and making more elements (higher up in the hierarchy) have position: relative seems to work.
