Hi there,
I know there's a bunch of topics on this already, but I just could not find what I need!
I'm new to WP and I'm using the TwentyEleven theme for my site, http://www.nervecentremusic.com. Last night I made a bunch of changes to my site, mainly making it wider and the header image height smaller. Then I went and checked it on the main browsers and it worked fine on them all except IE9.
Please bare in mind I'm new to this, so please don't give me a load of jargon, just tell me what I need to do to fix it, either what bit of CSS I've to change, or suggest a plugin.
I tried using http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ie9-mode/ but it didn't do anything, not one single thing.
Help me please!
Many thanks! :-)
Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress 3.2 theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues.
Create a child theme for your customisations. Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.

Thanks Esmi,
Sorry if I seem thick, but I just created a child theme, uploaded it to the themes directory (using FileZilla), as that post instructed, and nothing happened.
Did I break things when I started playing with the CSS and PHPs? Basically I guess what I'm asking is will I have to completely reinstall TwentyEleven for it to like the child theme?
Many thanks :-)
Yes, you will need to reinstall the Twenty Eleven theme but you should still be able to see your new child theme in Appearance -> Themes.

Thanks again. Allow me to reward your kindness with a joke:
A duck was looking nervously left and right at the edge of a road. A chicken came up to him and said: "I wouldn't do that if I was you - you'll never hear the end of it".
I'll try reinstalling tomorrow night because I know I'll be up all night playing with it if I start now, so IE users are just going to have to wait another little bit. No doubt I'll be back with more questions.
Thanks again :-)
