  • I host through iPage and currently use the weebly drag and drop. I’ve been playing around with WordPress because I want to switch. I currently have downloaded and installed WordPress, but it doesn’t show up because the WordPress files are overridden by the Weebly drag and drop. I found this difficult while customizing the website (I am a total newbie to website design, by the way) because I couldn’t see what the Home page would look like with the WordPress theme- it always went back to the original drag and drop website. I changed the website address for the home page to be http://www.myaddresshere.com/wordpress and I think that is what caused the issue. The problem is, I can no longer access the wp-admin site to change it back, using either http://www.myaddresshere.com/wp-admin OR http://www.myaddresshere.com/wordpress/wp-admin Every time I try, it reads 500 Internal Server Error. HELP. I am freaking out a tiny bit.

  • If you don’t have ftp access, you may need to contact your host.

Right now I don’t care if the weebly drag and drop is overriding my wordpress because the wordpress isn’t ready to publish and I want my site to be up in the meantime, I just want to be able to access my wordpress to edit it. Is this still an FTP issue?

As far as I know, if you cannot access your admin panel then FTP is the only option
