Newbie here, been tinkering around with my theme files and although the home page shows up in my theme, when I click on the navigation to the "about" etc....I get a error. Here is the site I'm referring to
anyone give me a heads up on how I can resolve this issue? I just want to get back to the normal wp page view so I can add content.
probably the smartest thing to do would be to upload a fresh copy of your theme to get back to normal
In future when "tinkering" with theme files, you should make a back up of the file you are modifying so you can easily revert

just did that Samuel. I'm still getting the same issue. I don't know what this is:
this is what happens when I click on the "about" tab on my site. I want it to go to a page similar to the home page.

Check syntax in your .htaccess, probably there is a error in url rewrite rule.

It depends on what you are trying to achieve with it. Post contents of your file.
