Internal plugin template installations not possible on dedicated server

Hi,

I use the plugin OptimizePress 2. There is an option to install more themes within the plugin.

It gives you the possibility to click on “upload content template” then a file-uploader opens where you can select a template zip-file and upload it.

Here the problems start that I don’t have on my shared account. Here on my dedicated server it says:

“The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads”

Then I change the permission of the wp-content/uploads to 777.

Then it asks me:

Hostname
FTP Username
FTP Password
Connection Type

When I fill in and click “proceed” it seems to upload, but not “install”… there’s simply the error:

“Please select a file” and blank space (nothing to select)

The plugin doesn’t move certain files to the wp-content/uploads, like it does on my Hostgator account.

Now, I’ve tried a bunch of things:

– check the path to “tmp” in php.ini
– added IfModule mod_security.c code to htaccess
– added Apache to the list of users for the wp-content
folder, and give it read and write permissions

I’m at my wits’ end.

Any ideas?
