All of the internal page links (links to other parts of the same page) are now opening in a new window (in both Chrome and Firefox). I am using the a href attribute, but even when I insert a target="_self" the issue still occurs? I imagine my site visitors will find this annoying. Any suggestions?

It would be helpful to have a link to your site so we can see the actual links.

Have you tried:
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
