The links in my WordPress are going to the host name (i.e. blahblah.tripod.com/blog) rather than the website nam (www.blahblah.com/blog.) How do I change the WordPress software so it knows to use the domain name that I purchased?

Well one, I'd give a link to your site so we can see what is occuring.
My money is on you've got a domain redirect and wrapped your site within a frame. Only solution is to get real hosting and actually use the domain within your blog instead of the tripod url.

As you see, it can totally be accessed correctly (through the domain.)
But all of the links on the page go to kleinupamerica.freehostingnow.com/whatever rather than properly.
