Interactive chart in WordPress using HTML code created from another website (6 posts)

What I want on my website is an interactive line graph and an interactive US map so that when you hover your cursor over the map, data from the state appears. These are easy enough to create as there are multiple sources online to create it. But I keep getting conflicting information about whether I can insert this code into my WordPress site. I am told there is a difference with CSS and HTML, and that WordPress uses CSS but blocks some code from HTML. Any suggestions on how I handle this? The graph and the map will each be on its own page.

This WordPress support page for one http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ says that some HTML code is stripped out for security purposes.

    It's hosted at godaddy.com.

The WordPress.COM support page is irrelevant for your self hosted site.

Why don't you try it and see what happens? There's no way to give you a definite answer as your theme or plugins might interfere.
