oops, I'm trying to find the simple working parts of the template that I can plug into the hompage of a website I just set up, I have been hacking Blogger templates for about a year, but can't even find an html template for word press that I can look at, let along try to use as part on my new site. Any pointers would be welcome.

All you have to do is add the Loop to your pre-existing webpage.

I'm not talking about a new template, I'm talking about the existing one. I should have been more clear (I'm overwhelmed by the WordPress complexity and am not convinced of the advantage of using WP, twas part of my hosting package and I thought it'd be easy). All I want to do is have a home page using a template they give that I'll modify a bit, using WP posts as a center column of changing content with ability to comment (kind of like the idealist.org set up) but also with the ability to put archives and links somewhere in the sidebar. Also, I'd like to get rid of the page /blog and would like to have all bloggyness on the main page, with the rest of it out of sight, out of mind. I think it might just be easier to mess around with a Blogger FTP move.

Okay, thank you! I will take a gander, and maybe even learn to author in HTML before attempting this. Thanks for the links.
