First, want to say that I really appreciate the Nav Menu Roles plugin.

I’m using NMR on a rather complicated menu with multiple roles for an intranet. It occurred to me the other day that I should make a duplicate of this menu, just in case.

I found the plugin Duplicate Menu which does what it says, except that it doesn’t duplicate any Nav Menu Roles settings.

I think the issue is that neither ‘nav-menu-logged-in-out’ or ‘nav-menu-role’ are included in the array of menu item keys/values that are being duplicated in duplicate-menu.php, and I’m not sure how to properly include them in that array. Perhaps a filter?

I’ve been working on this for a couple hours and have run out of ideas, so I thought I’d ask here if you have a solution or can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks,
    John

Hi John. I’m glad you like NMR. I’d have to agree with your assessment and similar to how the default importer works, the menu item’s NMR meta information (everything is saved in the _nav_menu_role key) isn’t being duplicated.

I think this question is better suited for the Duplicate Menu devs.. though they may or may not support the duplication of custom keys.

Thanks Kathy. I left a note in the Duplicate Menu support forum, and if this gets reconciled I’ll try to remember to update this thread.
