Instead of Fade is there a way to add dissolve or other transitions? It seems the fading is a little different now in the new version of the plugin in relation to the older versions of the plugin.
Is it easy to add different transitions?

At the moment, the only animations available are 'slide' and 'fade'. The release of version 2.2.0 will introduce new animations.
The fading animation hasn't been altered since version 2.0.0, when it was introduced, though. Perhaps something has changed in your theme, which influenced the slideshow.
It's not very easy to add transitions, you'd have to go into the slideshow's script to adapt them.
