   Hi all,

   I used the InstantUpgrade plugin to try and upgrade to WordPress 2.2. this afternoon. I've used it before without any problems.

   Today, when I clicked the "upgrade" button, the site froze. I then navigated to the upgrade page script, and that simply had an infinite redirect on it. I cannot get into the Dashboard, to deactivate the plugin, or change the CHMOD settings that the InstantUpgrade plugin imposes. I cannot, therefore, do a manual upgrade via FTP, as I cannot change file permissions (to 777, etc).

   FTP in and delete the plugin. Flush your cache in your browser and then navigate to your site.

   Thanks, Samboll. Unfortunately that didn't get work. When navigating to the wp-admin page, I get a strange WordPress Error which says: "Cheatin' uh?"

   thats normal.

   login, and then call the upgrade script.

   Right. But how do I fix it, so I can get back into my site once more?

   I logged in, and the wp-admin page gives this error

   Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_admin_page_title() in /data/members/paid/c/o/conflictoflaws.net/htdocs/www/wp-admin/admin-header.php on line 12

   I try to run the upgrade script, and it still has an infinite redirect.

   Many thanks for the help so far - truly appreciated. Any more ideas?

   A quick note: this thread should not be construed as criticising the plugin itself. It has worked flawlessly before, and no doubt the fault for this failure is mine.

   The support team at Zirona, the plugin authors, have also been extremely helpful in trying to diagnose, and fix, the problem.

    I first asked my host to manually reset all of the permissions.

    I then deleted the plugin via FTP, and upgraded WordPress. I did have to delete the files before uploading the new versions for it to work. I then ran the upgrade script, and could finally get back into the Dashboard after that.
