[resolved] Instant WordPress Won't Uninstall! (7 posts)

I'm trying to uninstall Instant WordPress (having some trouble with the software and want it gone) but it's not listed anywhere on my Windows uninstall screen! I can see it when I navigate through "my computer" then (C:). I've tried a system restore to the day before I downloaded the software and IT'S STILL THERE. I'v even tried REVO Uninstaller but it doesn't list it either. I've tried contacting the developer but haven't heard back. I've gone through the developers notes looking for help but learned nothing.

What are some other ways to manually get rid of the software? I've heard that you can go through the regedit but that makes me nervous as I'm not very familiar with it.

Can I just delete the program folders and then maybe run something like CCleaner? Would that do the trick?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We don't support Instant WP here. Have you tried contacting its developers directly?

Yes, but sadly he hasn't responded. Very frustrating. Do you know of other reputable sites that can offer some help?

Sorry - I don't. All I can suggest is that you consider hiring someone to sort this out for you.

While esmi is correct that any support issues you may encounter with Instant WordPress should be handled by their support group, this one is a pretty common, yet not always obvious solution with stand-alone software.

Instant WordPress doesn't actually install anything on your computer. That's why there is no uninstaller. The executable you downloaded from Instant WordPress does nothing more than "unzip" all of it's files to one directory, to the location you indicated during the extraction dialog. All you need to do to uninstall it, is simply delete the entire InstantWP_4.3 directory.

"Instant WordPress can be installed as many times as you wish and deleted by simply removing the folder that it is running from. Nothing is left on your machine."

Ohhhhh! That makes such sense. Thank you for explaining! I always feel like such a dunce when dealing with software issues but this forum has ALWAYS been very, very helpful.
