Install.php file reapeared (10 posts)

    Hello,

My hosting service suspended the service of the blog I opened in 2008.

When the suspension was cancelled, the install.php file appeared again, and people could see it directly in the URL Amolamoda.net

So nobody could complete the installation form, I erased the file.

All the rest of my files, from these 5 years, are still there on the server. Is there a chance to recover my blog as it was or I have to reinstall it again and start from scratch?

    Regards
    Paula

Have you checked to see if your old database is still intact?

Thank you for your quick response esmi.

The database is a back up I did last friday.

I don't know how to check if it is intact. Could you help me?

Let's try one step at a time. Have you restored the backup to a brand new database? If yes, have you configured WordPress - via your wp-config.php file - to use the new database name, user & password?

Hello esmi, thank you for helping me

No, the database was not brand new. It is a back up of it I did last Friday of the blog I've been writing for 7 years, 5 of them self hosted.

Last friday the hosting said one of my applications was using too much of their mysql services, so they suspended my database service. However, I was able to do the backup anyway, although the site was not available to the public.

Now they restaured the service over that database backup and the URL and the admin page or dashboard were redirecting to the install.php, so i deleted it, just until I figure out how to solve the problem.

Then there are serious problems with the restored database. I suggest creating a new database and trying another restore.

I'm sorry esmi, but does this mean I have to start the blog from scratch?

What will i loose if I create a new database?

Nothing if you have a good database backup that you can restore.

esmi, we are using the databasse backup I had made, and the site is not working

Tech support is telling me to download the files and database from this link, http://200.58.119.250:2086

Also, I have another database backup from 2011. Could I use that one and then upload the files from this last year? Would that work?

You could try using the older backup to see if that works.
