install.php: Failed at Step 3

    My configuration:
    Apache/1.3.29 (Unix) PHP/4.3.4
    I searched through the forum and found that many people got the same error: installation failed at step 3. I am not able to fix my problem by the solutions provided though. The page doesn’t load in IE and doesn’t give me any error messages. It went through step 1 and 2 fine. Does anyone have a fix? Thanks!

    Which version of WordPress are you trying to install? The current release is 1.0.2 and the current beta/nightly releases will be 1.2 something.

    i tried both. same problem! “Page cannot be displayed!”

    Did you edit your wp-config.php using MS word? If you used anything but the simplest text editor, you might have some problems due to the editor mucking up the file with formatting and stuff.
