I'm using SuSE Enterprise Linux 9 and have installed Apache 2.2.2, MySQL 5.0.22 and PHP 5.1.4, run various tests to confirm that PHP is working and will connect to MySQL through the "mysqli" extension. I've turned on PHP error logging and am not receiving any errors. When I compiled php, I used only the "--with=mysqli=/path_to_mysql_config" option.
I manually reviewed the various include files that are called by the install.php script and see that the wp-db.php appears to only support the older 'mysql' extension. Can someone confirm this? As I said above, I don't receive any error messages from the install.php script, only a blank screen (when I view source, the source code is blank as well, further indicating to me that the php preprocessor is functioning perfectly).
Any other suggestions? Must I recompile php with both mysql api extensions in order to make this work?
