• FOREWARNING: I’m not a technical guy…I’m just a PR guy…over explain when replying please : )

We’re planning to install WP on our server so we can start a health blog. Our IS says it needs to go on one of our PHP servers. They say that because the hospital has so many applications (everything from patient care related systems to supply ordering etc) that they think we might need to buy a new server just for WP. First, does this sound right to anyone else? I can’t imagine that WP is that much of a risk or that our blog will take up a ton of space on a server.

Second, is there anyone (particularly a WP employee) who could sit in on a call tomorrow (Tuesday, June 30 at 1 pm ET) to answer any questions our IS has about WP?

    Thanks,
    Matt Cyr

  • wp files take up hardly any space.the db can grow quite large over time if you post A LOT but it takes a massive amount of info just to use 10 mb of space.

all you need to install/run wp is a server with php and a mysql database – preferably linux but if configured correctly will work well on a windows server
