   I recently purchased a domain (www.virtualonlinesolutions.com), and I am using Hostgator as my host. I want to use WordPress to create my site, so I followed a YouTube video on how to do this. I went to 'Quick Install' under the Software/Services tab on the Hostgator C-Panel (control panel) and installed WordPress 3.5.1 onto my domain. I waited one day for it to load to the site, but when I try to access the website, I get a blank page. Also when I try to access the Word Press admin page with the following link: http://www.virtualonlinesolutions.com/wp-admin, it shows Error 404 in the browser's tab.

   Can someone PLEASE help me as to what is going wrong with the installation? I would truly appreciate any help!

   When you look at your site, the first bit if text on it is this:

   virtualonlinesolutions.com
   This domain name has just been registered.
   Why is this page displayed?

   Click that link and it will tell you why.

   The short story is that either your domain names nameserver settings haven't been pointed to your hosting server, or the DNS settings haven't had time to propegate yet. You'll be able to find the nameserver settings that you need on your wlcome email from HostGator, and you'll need to enter those on your domain name. You can contact the organisation that you registered the domain name through for more help and information.
