   Tried to download the new word press on a mac, but when it downloads, i just get loads of PHP pages and no actual app to use.

   What do i do to make it work?

   That's what wordpress is. A blog platform written in php. It is meant to be hosted on a server and access from a web browser. Perhaps you'd be better suited using wordpress.com. Then after you've acquired a little more knowledge come back to wordpress.org and start hosting your own blog.

   Ah, OK.

   Are you familiar with 1and1 hosting company?
   Presumably i could host my own blog with them - as i already have my hosting there!
   Any idea how i set it up?
