Installing the WordPress into Media Temple Web Hosting (6 posts)

Two months ago, I've registered to a new account with WordPress.com, purchased a domain with them for $15 and blogged for while.

Then, I've realized that I wanted to do something more but requires Plugins feature which I didn't have one. So, I've decided to get a host so I can expand to Buddypress by using Plugins for installation.

This morning, I've purchased Media Temple Host only (Grid-Service) and added my existed domain that I've been using for two months. Next, in the 1-click application for WordPress, I've selected "Add New Application", clicked "Start" for WordPress, installed successfully, clicked "Finished', and went straight to my WordPress website.

Unfortunately, Plugins feature did not appear in my Dashboard and unable to install Buddypress without the Plugins. I've spent all day figuring out how to add Plugins feature.

Does your theme allow plugins? Switch to the default theme and see what happens.

I have switched to a default theme in the Apparence tab to Kubrick by Michael Heilemann. Still, Plugins did not appear in the Dashboard after I restarted.

In the wp-content folder is there a folder for plugins? Also, what is the URL?

Yes, the folder does have it. Not sure if this is the URL you are looking for, deafworldvlog.com/html/wp-content/plugins ...

You have sooooo many pointers to wordpress.com and that may be the problem. With a new install of WP your header.php should not be so full of junk.

And the install could have botched up some files so at the very least I would totally recopy the wp-admin and wp-includes folders to your server. DO NOT at this point bother anything in wp-content.
