Ivinco has provided us with an awesome WordPress Plugin for Sphinx Search. If you don't know what Sphinx Search is check out: http://sphinxsearch.com

Sphinx Search is phenominal for those of us with huge WordPress Sites. Ivinco has done a good job with their plugin according to multiple users out there, however, I seem to be having some issues.

I'm hoping that I can get some help from some current WordPress Sphinx users and/or developers.

Just to give you a heads up, I have been trying to get sphinx to install and configure properly on an established domain. No luck at all, so I thought that maybe there were some compatibility issues, so I decided to work on a fresh domain and fresh database and fresh wordpress install. I just got done trying to run sphinx on a fresh wp install with about 20 posts of dummy content.

There are no plugins on the wp install (except sphinx of course).
It is the wp Twenty-Ten theme with no mods.

    I got this error:

Indexer: reindexing error, try to run it manually.
    Command: /home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/bin/indexer --config /home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/etc/sphinx.conf wp_delta wp_main wp_stats

When I tried to run the command manually with SSH via Superuser, I got this error:

ERROR: invalid token in /home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/sphinx.conf line 1 col 1.
ERROR: invalid token in /home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/sphinx.conf line 1 col 1.
FATAL: failed to parse config file ‘home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/sphinx.conf’

So, I'm wondering where the issue is. I was hoping that it was my wordpress install on the other domain or some other active plugin...but now I'm at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Compare the paths to sphinx.conf in the "suggested Command" and in the ouput:
    /home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/etc/sphinx.conf
    and
    /home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/sphinx.conf

Yes....I can see that they are different. I used the correct path. I copied it digit for digit......3 times. That is why I am so confused as to why the suggestion has not worked for me.

I see what you are saying Yaroslav, however, i must've forgotten the '/etc/' when transposing the numbers from my SSH to the forum. I apologize.

    Here is what I ran:

    Command: /home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/bin/indexer --config /home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/etc/sphinx.conf wp_delta wp_main wp_stats

And here is the error that I received:

ERROR: invalid token in /home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/sphinx.conf line 1 col 1.
ERROR: invalid token in /home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/sphinx.conf line 1 col 1.
FATAL: failed to parse config file ‘home/id10t/public_html/test/wp-content/uploads/sphinx/sphinx.conf’

Again, I apologize for the confusion in my transfering the words from SSH. I wish I could've copied and pasted, however, it does not allow me to do that.
