urdogzm8I use MacOS 10.6.4, WordPress 3 and MySQL 5.1
I installed the MySQL and tried to install WP the way its described in the readme - didntt work. So I created an extra user for the MySQL, created the database for the WP, all this using Navicat - mean the MySQL really works. Then I manually created the wp-config.php file.
Now, when I run the install.php I get this message

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.
Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

I am sure about all the three things mentioned. What else could it be?
